| James Wyatt has written in his blog:
quote: Expedition to Castle Ravenloft has shown up on Amazon, though without the "Expedition to" at the front of the title. I don't actually know which is the correct title! The files I turned over the other week had a four-word title, that's all I know. It was great to work with Bruce on that adventure. I just want to state, for the record, that the horrible tentacled thing is actually mine, not Bruce's. Bruce has a reputation as the creator of all things tentacled (thanks, originally, to his work on The Illithiad for 2nd Edition, I think), but the Formless Spawn was all me.
(Ari Marmell picked this up at ENworld.)

| Anyone know if this is a sequel to Ravenloft?
Im hoping its an adventure that 3rd edition newbies who never heard of Ravenloft can play.
..unlike RttToEE wich is a sequel that expects you to have played the 1st one. | | Champion of the Skulk Vindicated Champion of the Twig Blight

| | Shoot, now this is where I wish I had a better memory. They talked a little about this at Winter Fantasy, and I want to say that the news is that it will be part adventure, part sourcebook. Perhaps someone who was taking notes or something can say more. | | Champion of the Rakshasa. Check out my Mini Terrain Maker, or my new Dungeon Map Maker (under development). | |

| Its listed as a hardcover so it may not be a sequel at all. However Amazon is a little loose with descriptions so it could be trade and just called hardcover. The quote leads me to believe this is original work and not a rerelease of the first or second Ravenloft adventure.
I hope it is a sequel, Ravenloft was my favorite adventure ever. I when through as a player then ran it for two different groups as a DM.

I disagree, I ran the Return and with players that had never played the original one and had no problem. No confusion as to what was going on if neccessary I could always have had someone get background from townfolk but the party figured out what was going on and what to do fairly quickly.

| | Ravenloft was the setting I ran most of my games out off. I loved the way the setting mixed traditional D&D with a Hammer Horror movie. My fav RL module was the Illithid domain adventure, such a creepy and alien atmosphere.[:D] | | Pathetic Earthlings. | | I love the horror and gothic style while playing Ravenloft. It was a very good setting and with the right music and light it was just perfect. I'll check it out. | | | |

| | Its an adventure AND a campaign setting. 64 pages of adventure and 96ish pages of campaign support is what they told us at Winter Fantasy. The slide they showed us was called just "Castle Ravenloft" but that may not be 100% the title, just a mock up. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! | | This is an amazing thing to hear. I loved Ravenloft back in 2nd Edition and want it back. I have some of the 3rd Edtion stuff White Wolf did but it always felt lacking since they couldn't talk about other properties when addressing the domains. (Not a single reference to Soth or Kender in the Sithicus entry. A shame.) | | Champion of the Beholder and Beholderkin

| | They did mention that the adventure in Castle ravenloft is about the same size as Red Hand of Doom. I thought that was pretty impressive. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! Check out my brand new blog: http://bshugg.blogspot.com | |
