With the monster of legend teplate it says "Haste (su): The creature is supernaturally quick. It can take an extra partial action each round, as if affected by a haste spell."

With the 3.5 changes to haste I'm wondering how it effects this.

I assume you would simply treat it as if it was affected by haste.

AFAIK, there is no clear answer. You can either give it the 3.5 haste benefit, or you can refer to the choker to see how its 3.0 haste equivalent ability works in 3.5 ...

I'd probably just apply the 3.5 Haste spell to it, and then go from there.

If it is a spellcaster, has other spell like abilities, or a nasty special ability it uses as a standard action, 3.0 haste can BREAK the monster. Imagine a dragon dropping a breath weapon AND a full attack on somebody. For a spellcaster, they could easily get 3 spells off in a round with that (normal, hasted, and quickend).

For a creature with only melee attacks, 3.0 haste usually isnt game breaking. It can give them an extra attack around, or the ability to move and get a full attack.

So my recomendation is mathematically calculate how much damage the monster could do with 3.0 haste in a round or two. If its enough to butcher someone, use 3.5 haste.

But as a rule of thumb, if the thing has a lot of spells/spell like abilities or nasty special attacks, 3.0 haste would make it VERY tough.

Sanity is a one trick pony, my friend, . . .but when you're good and crazy the sky is the limit.
