She's hot. [:p]
Seriously, she could be pretty good. One attack isn't so hot, but there are ways around that. You don't want her going to toe to toe with a CE heavy hitter, but she can certainly finish one of them off.
The game was ok, woulda been better with more people though. Always is.
I went 2-0 with Tiefling, DCoL, HRD, Fomorian, Orc Druid x2, cursed spirit.
Omand went 1-1 with a Lich Necromancer and two HRDs.
Scott went 1-1 with Ogre Mage, Red Wizard, Beholder, Steel Predator, Warforged Titan, Bulette, azer raider, goblin skirmisher.
Paula went 0-2 with a Glabrezu, Flind Captain, Troll Slasher, Treant, some forest trolls, and some other stuff.
Round 1 I beat Paula and Omand beat Scott, and then Scott beat Paula and I beat Omand. | |

I am especially looking forward to getting:
Large Deep Dragon (I have yet to get a large dragon[:(])

Hmmmm...now that I think of it the dragon and the marut won't be able to fit in the same band as the dragon unless we're playing epic so:

This would be my 2nd choice I think. I can't rememeber all of the rares in the set that have been previewed.

| Is that a dwarf operated Goblin Cannon or a Hobgoblin operated Goblin Cannon? What would be the damage of a terminal velocity goblin anyway? And does your ammo count as victory points for the other team?
I like Rikka. It is creative and well thought out. And the fact that she shows skin is always a good thing. He designed it based on his wife as a model, which I think is pretty cool.
Gee, maybe I could design a mini based on my kids. It could be the Chaos Child Swarm!!! They could make annoying noise as a sonic attack (within radius 6, causes confusion). A special ability could be "Rubble Trail" which would read" Any path that this mini travels over becomes rough terrain from all the lego pieces they leave behind." Ha ha ha...
But seriously, WHERE IS THE RUST MONSTER!!!!!
This is one of the core critters that has not been done yet. Nor has the pixie, the fairy dragon or the Gelatinous cube, which are all others I'd like to see. | |

So many posts to answer.
Thursday evening was fun, if a bit on the small side. We took our time with games and results are as Richard has posted.
As for the Pre-release, I am looking forward to it, but unsure what I want to play. Until we see more spoilers I think the good combinations are still up in the air.
Rikka looks interesting. Still need to see her final stat card for comparison.
Goblin Cannon? Not likely soon, but we do get the Arcan Ballista in War Drums.
Rust Monster? Well, maybe that will make it into War Drums as well. we can only hope.

Also in is Axis & Allies Minis....just in time for the A&A demo tomorrow (it is tomorrow, right Rob?)
So Saturday is theme band day. Come with the best Halloween theme to get free tourney fees. Ideas? Most Zombies, scariest theme, the munsters, vampire squad, etc... I was talking to one person who thought about traditional Halloween garb, like a cowboy costume, etc...so I thought maybe make the YMCA village people team. Maybe dress your minis up in costumes.....maybe....
Okay enough of that. Tomorrow is also "New Guy Day" for HeroClix at 10:00, and there will be free stuff. Cheers | |

Special Abilities: presice shot. In my sights (This creature can target enemies with hide. Small Shot (This creature can sacrifice a small adjacent ally to get bonuses to his ranged attack; If the sacrifice is a gobliniod, this creature does 40 magic dmg instead of 10; If the sacrificed ally is any other small creature, this creature does 25 magic dmg instead of 10). Selective Shot 2. Fearless. Scout.
I think that's it.
Now I'm going to answer questions that have already been asked so you don't have to ask them. *ahem*
The goblin Cannon is piloted by a goblin (A very fearless goblin). the Cannon is bolted to the ground (Thus the spd 0).
Yes, this creature will get murdered on maps, but will kill on tiles.
If the ranged attack misses it's target, the sacrificed ally lands on a random adjacent square to the target and takes 5 dmg with no aoo.
That's all I can think of and please don't hesitate to critique this AGAIN. It's the entire process of creating a mini. And believe you me, I WILL win GenCon, ONE DAY! ONE DAY!!!!![:D][^]

| I can't rmemeber the kid's name, but him and Jay played the demo. Rob also showed up, but he just came with the demo and no D&D minis so we were 1 person short the entire day. I played the kid and he beat me with the help of jay and Rob. I wanted to try out the Ryld I traded from the kid, but I won't make that mistake again. I thought Ryld was a good mini, but I guess I'll have to find someone to trade it to.

A&A is a good little game. very diffrent form D&DM or SWM. lots of D6 rolling at one point i was rolling 15 a time. it remined me of a Wizard i once knew... good times. | |

I think that this will easily overcome ALOT of players if they have to play a Mounted Drow Patrol and Helmed Horror per say against an epic Justicator.

No we cannot use Epic minis in the Pre-release, at least not with their Epic stats. The Pre-release (and you can verify this at the WotC site) is a Sealed 200 pt Assault format tournament. You can use the figures with their non-epic stats, however.
So, Rikka, the Balor, the Death Slaad, etc. can be used in the tournament, but only with their lower level (basic) stats.

| I have not heard anything official about the epic minis, so for this prerelease it will be the standard format. I would expect that once the epic minis become known to the masses that rules governing their play will emerge.
There may even be some rules addendum stuffed in the box explaining this, but we will have to wait until Saturday now won't we.......
Remember - 10:30 registration, we start at 11:00.

Well, it seems I spoke to soon about Epics. I just looked at the scanned rules insert that is floating around. Justicator and Rikka will be legal by the looks of things in the Pre-release.
That will prove to be interesting. Hardly seems fair to my mind.
It will only be those two minis though, not all of the Epics.

Yup, you need a map, tiles, counters, dice.
Also, WoTC has reversed their position and the epic versions of Rikka and the Justicator are no longer legal in the prerelease tournament. Or any other limited format game. | |

I doubt it. Besides, I like that they gave out the promo at the end instead of the beginning. Keeps people from losing a game or two and then running off ruining their opponent's tie breakers. | |

| The Thursday game this week is a sanctioned 200 points assault game.
I am expecting my Underdark kit in today, and I did get confirmation from wizards about the epic characters. It reads as such:
Epic versions of creatures are not allowed in 200-point Limited play. The rules insert included in Underdark boosters is not correct.
This is applicable to all DCI-sanctioned D&D Miniatures tournaments, including Underdark prerelease tournaments and 2005 Limited Qualifiers and Championship tournaments.
