First, I am really excited that he is only a rare, even if that means I will see him across from me more often [B)]
Stat-wise and Force-wise: Wow [:0] Dark Armor along with Block/Deflect increases his endurance beyond his 140 HP. Force Whirlwind- 20 damage grenade to deal with swarms or R2-jetpackers. And my favorite: Force Renewal! So you can keep using those Force powers ΖD]
With this Vader on the task, I can see why Tarkin proclaim: "The Jedi are extinct. Their fire has gone out of the universe." [}:)]

No official ruling until Universe comes out and these lightsaber specific rules go live, but the definition Guy has suggested is two-fold: If the figure has a visible, lit lightsaber or if the figure has a Force Power with "lightsaber" in the name. | | | |

| I like it, but I'm afraid of it... It will probably become a metagaming -piece that you'll have to prepare to stop in every game, which isn't easy. What I don't like in charcacters of this high cost is that in normal games they more are the squad than belong to it.
It's strong against Jedi (Block & Hunter), and strong against non-jedi(Armor, Deflect), and has ways to eliminate hordes(whirlwind,sweep,triple,grip). How to beat him, really? He has no weaknesses. | He has a very large weakness... he is 75 points.
Plus units with Force Lightning, Sith Lightning, Force Grip, and other automatic damage abilities will work very well against this piece.
Consider: for 87 points, only 11 more than Vader you can get Shocky Palp out of RS and RotS Vader. These two pieces could easily kill Vader every time while he would have trouble killing one and reducing the other much at all.
Additionally RANGED units are excellent against Vader since he only does 10 damage per turn from ranged- this Vader isn't good until he closes to melee (then he is a beast).
Don't get me wrong this Vader is AWESOME- but he is certainly beatable. | | 13th Place at the 2005 DDM Championship in GenCon | |

| You may be right, but still...
Ranged units - vader probably advances in cover. DEF 27 with 50% DR 10 and deflect you'll have loads of difficulties to cause him serious damage. he may still have 5 stormies with him to take some shots.
Another Vader? How long is he going to last against triple -attack at +20 and 30 damage? Taking and AoO from him & possibly blocking it isn't a hard decision to cut Emperor's lightnings & force supply...
Dark Side marauder also looks pretty neat company for him (I just hoped Gonk would have been 3 points so Ewok wouldn't be the only(is it?) choise to fill 3 point gap...)

Same attack, same damage as Vader. They both have Melee attack, Triple attack, Force 2, Force Renewal 1, and Lightsaber Block/Deflect/Sweep ("Like father, like son")
Luke has 10 less HP and 1 less Defense. He doesn't have Dark Armor, Jedi Hunter, Force Grip or Force Whirlwind. He does have Lightsaber Throw, Force Leap and Master Speed, as well as a CE that really helps force users.
While I admit that he would be at a disadvantage against Vader in a straight one on one fight (as would any force user against someone with Jedi Hunter), I certainly don't think he "cant beat Vader to save his life." Certainly some of his efficiency goes to his commander effect which will be sweet in 200pt where he can add some followers... | | | |
