Sounds like new Vader is going to have the super-sweep that Mace Windu has. :/ | | "Why am I all sticky and naked? Did I miss something fun?" -Vindicated champion of Tordek, Dwarf Champion

This is NOT good news. We dont need a 9th Anakin/Vader like he said.
What we need are new characters.
Is it really necessary to put Anakin/Vader/Luke/Obi-Wan in every set?
The answer is NO.
How many people will actually not buy a set because Luke or Vader isnt in it? And if they do choose not to buy is it really a big deal? It seems to me if someone is going to turn their nose up at a set because of the exclusion of a single character..then if you did put that character in it all they would do is try to get the one mini and stop collecting...So its not worth wasting a slot on Vader #5 when it could be Captain Panaka or Barris Ofee instead.

Well, depends on what the contract with Lucas says. If it is a choice between no set and another Vader, I will take the Vader...

| Well perhaps this is due to vader able to use the force 2 times a turn...(2x lightsaber sweep if vader is totally surrounded = 16 attacks)
so while it looks absurd it could be simply a rather unlikely possibility in the game itself.
And yeah we don't need another anakin/darth vader model...but i'm more worried about the future of star wars miniatures than the lack of an unknown character in the line. | | Completed Trades: -Eric the God; 7 miniatures, 5/5 -LCS; 1 miniature+tiles, 5/5

| And most people do not collect whole sets.
So basically every new Vader is a chance fot he kiddies to get one in a booster... I'm pretty sure that's the reasoning behind this.

| Not being a set collector I don't mind the multiple Vader, but I can understand the frustration of those who go for the sets here, several of the same unique figure? When does that become useful?

After all, New players would be less likely to get into the game in the future if their only chances to get Vader passed two years earlier.

| | You touch a very important point in my opinion: if the game is supposed to attract new people, there will need to be availability of the classic heroes/sets. I know the folks that collect stuff and want their things to go +$ won't agree, but demand increase with the playability of the game. If the game dies, the market for the minis would probably drop for these guys too. | | Completed Trades: -Eric the God; 7 miniatures, 5/5 -LCS; 1 miniature+tiles, 5/5 | |

I kinda like it, since they are all different point cost and power wise. Lets me create a variety of squads that include my favorite Imperial.
Also, it lets us come up with nicknames: RS Vader, DK - "Vader Choke A B!tch" RS Vader, SL - "Sith Lord of the Dance" RotS Anakin - "Angry Annie" RotS Vader - "Disco Vader" Uni Vader, JH - "Vade Ruth"

That is a real shame.
Yes, Vader, JH is tough but he is beatable and it is very satisfying to do so.

Previously I believe it has been a month or two before the set release.
And I suspect we won't see anything until after the Attack on Endor, so as to not take the focus off the other releases...

| My friends and I are into casual play for the most part, so certain figures don't get used. R2D2 for the most part is a big no-no, esp. the cracked out toe-cable version of him. Vader JH is beatable but it realy takes a specific warband to do so.

Ummmm, YAY! I only play Classic characters, no interest in prequel trilogy or EU characters (exept maybe charcters from the TotJ comics). This is good news for me!

| | I'm not sure if we will see banned SW minatures. It does not sound like something Lucas would allow.
