| Limited Tourney 1 Starter + 1 booster
Winner: John Wang (John05)
49 Warpriest of Moradin 49 Warforged Barbarian 38 Mephling Pyromancer 32 Warforged Bodyguard 25 Flameskull 7 Shieldwall Soldier 200 pts, 6 acts
Unused Rare: Night Hag
I am thoroughly disgusted with the Night Hag. Three of the people at the tournament got that creature. I pity them almost as much as I pitied myself.
I got lucky as always and went 5-0 for the day. Two of the matches were unofficial. (One vs Dino Ben who was just dropping by, the other against Lylse after the tourney was over).
My last and scariest matchup was against Dagonet's whirlwinding Hill Giant band:
78 Hill Giant Barbarian 56 Brass Samurai 18 Sacred Watcher 20 Quaggoth Slave x2 13 Axe Soldier 8 Warforged Scout 7 Shieldwall Soldier 200 pts, 7 acts
He was the only one who had an HGB that tourney and no one got anything near that power level except for maybe the Aspect of Moradin (which I fought 2nd round). Needless to say, having whirlwind granted by Brass Samurai really put his band into a level of ridiculousness that made me sit myself. I forgot an "h" somewhere in the last sentence.
I ended up winning by completely ignoring the hill giant until I successfully assassinated his commander. I finished by forcing morale check 5 times on the Hill Giant (via my Warpriest's commander effect) before it finally failed its save and routed off the table. I ended up not losing a single figure in that match. Go figure.
Needless to say, I won with a lot of luck... but I'll TRY to get the reports up... I've just been too hassled lately and my memory is suboptimal under duress.
The prize was a booster, which was opened and split between me and Dagonet. I chose the rare out of the pack: Khumat.
I'm really glad I was able to make it. It turn's out the game store was closer than I thought and RIGHT on my way to Berkeley, so I could make it after all. I will definitely try to make it there more often, since it's right across the road from me! (highway 580)

| We all had a lot of fun. We had a great mix of some maxmini regulars and about three players who were entirely new to the game. It was a great opportunity to teach new players the game.
I can't exactly recall my warbard since I rearranged things once I was eliminated (and had done some trading). I think my warband was: Warforged Captain Inpsired Lieutenant Orc Mauler Quagooth Slave Combat Medic Halfling Slinger Wood Elf Ranger Hunting Cougar
My first match was against dagonets' whirlwind-attacking HGB band. I was wiped out completely before the hour was up. It didn't help that my blue starter die did not roll above a 9 until the final 15 minutes of the match. Still, I wasn't surprised to see his band advance to the final match-ups.
Hopefully, I'll get a chance to do better at the tourney at GoB and when I again battle the regular Who's On First? crowd on Wednesday.

| About 8 people showed up at the tourney if you don't count Ben. Two people showed up late, but that's ok because the two new players were hooked.. [}:)]
Ben showed up after the first round at Game Kastle. He had to leave early (as I should have but didn't). I don't mind having stayed though. Was fun and worth the time.

| Big props to everyone who attended the tournament, especially Valen (for serving as judge and calmly answering each and every question which came his way), and John W. (for teaching me a thing or three about lines of sight with his !@#@$$% Mephling Pyromancer).[B)]
Slops to the Night Hags, which were entirely too common at the tournament, and especially to the starter dice, which I am convinced are (badly) loaded. [:(!]
Also, just to clarify, I didn't actually field two Quaggoths and an Axe Soldier (I wish)--instead it was one Quaggoth and a Half Elf Ranger.
Cheers,

| You are right. Someone else fielded 2 Quaggoth's. I blame that mistake on the minor concussion I got that day. [B)]
Slops to the Night Hags (HATE...[:(!])... but I actually liked the dice. Although they suck (my luck was only SEMI-Godly that day, it's usually OverGodly!), the numbers are much more visible than the orange dice we got from the Aberrations Starter.

| The new blue version shall be smahed into little bity pieces! Though I didn't use one myself. It is a very funky piece of plastic as I "practised" with it the previous evening. In my humble opinion it never rolled right once. The first 6 rolls consisently higher than 14? In my case that would have been awesome but since I was attending a tourney the next day......come prepared.

I disagree. The new blue version should be subjected to nothing short of disintegration on a molecular level so that no trace of its taint on our plane of reality remains and all memories of its wretched existence shall be torn from our minds.
In short, I didn't care for the new starter die (and to think, as judge I nearly insisted that each player use their starter die!)

| Yup, I managed to swing by and say hi to the Dublin crowd on my way home from GameKastle Santa Clara. I did make the mistake of playing the warband I had built at GameKastle against John during a break. Gee, I was right, when the Arcane Ballista is based, it's worthless!!! Yeah, so I made the right choice by taking my one win at GameKastle and then dropping.
I hope to see a lot of you tomorrow at Games of Berkeley for our Limited event there. 'Til then, -Ben | | Champion of all things Athasian "Don't sing it - Bring it!"

You were one of the three folks in the main event who didn't lose a game... :)
