| | Hey guys, I have a plea for those of you planning on attending the Epic tournament this Saturday. I haven't been able to get my wardrums cases yet and won't be able to for a couple weeks but I wanted to use a few Wardrums minis this Saturday in my band. The pieces I still need are Orc Wardrummer x2, Warduke, and Huge Red Dragon. I was just wondering and hoping that someone might be able to help me out and lend me any or all of those pieces for the tourney. I'd really apprecite it. [:)] | | | |

If I didn't have the concert I could make it. I also have to cram in my niece's birthday party plus some other stuff. If only time were as relative as it should be [:)] | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. | First off, welcome to the boards Sneaky Joe! I'm sure we've probably met at one of the tournaments before but could you remind us who you are. It's always nice to put a face to a name. I'm Devin by the way. [)] Anyway, unfortunately there were only four of us at the tourney but I think we all had some pretty tough warbands. Here's the placement and bands.
1) Balor, Huge Red Dragon, Warduke, Ryld, Orc Wardrummer x2, Cursed Spirit, Trog. It was really nice when I managed to get an Epic Aspect of Kord to rout off the board with Warduke's initimidate.
2) Epic Kord, Elminster, Evermeet Wizard, Crow Shaman, Couatl, Inspiring Marshall, Medium Astral Construct.... Outactivate, GMA Kord, "swiftly" destroy all enemies, swap out with wolf. Very effective.
3) Epic Justicator x2, Couatl, CODA, Artificer, Eberk, Warforged Bodyguard, Sacred Watcher. A couple of Justicators with super high AC a lot of hp and healing... Just keep the Justicators alive and do some damage.
4) Lord Soth, Steel Predator x3, Justicator, Snig.... Let's just say a first round steel predator roar will cause a lot of destruction on the opponents starting area.

| Devin, my name is Keith, I met Mike and a few others at the pre-release of War Drums held at the Game Den. Mike informed me of this site so here I am. You might remember as the guy who took second at the pre-release. Sadly, I think I could have won first but a made a major newb mistake. I had just eliminated my oponents wemic barbarian and my troops had almost no damage. Then his War troll pounded my Warforged Captain. I forgot my Warforged CPT had fearless and he routed off the board. LOL, didnt realize I did that until the next day. Being comanderless at that point his Warpriest of Moradin took full advantage. And routed my Sand Giant off the board. Then went the comabt medic and I decided to concede at that point. Owell, all in all I had a blast and it was my first D&D mini official event.
Thanks for the updates on the epic tourney. I had actually created an epic band in case I was able to make it. The band featured Epic justicator, Mounted Paly, Iron Golem, Warforged Body Guard(WBG), Cleric of Dol Arrah(CODA), War Priest of Moradin(WPOM), Wall Elemental, and Dwarf Artificer.
The band had several ideas. The body guard was there to absorb all the damage that Epic Justicator and the Golem would be taking. The Golem was there as spell deterrent and a decent beater. The mounted pally to be used as a hunter/ healer / beater / and improving the warband AC, CODA was there to improve AC, heal, and win intiatives. WPOM had two objectives, one: if my band got coned or a mass AOE the body guard would take the whole damage and WPOM would allow him to live with the immediate spell allowing the WBG to absorb unlimited amounts of damage. Also, I was hoping to put the Wall elemental in a place to force some of the enemies forward troops to be out of command with his wall effect, this would hopefully allow my troops to take full advantage of WPOM commander effect and force many routes. The artificer was there to improve the warband and help take down the enemy tank/beater fast.(rust construct -4 ac ignore spell ressistance)
Anyway, looking at the bands that came to the battle things would have been interesting for me. My biggest fear was several beholders. This was my first time putting an epic war band together please tell me what you think? | | "Like a thief in the Night"

| Hey Keith. I do remember you better as the guy who took 2nd since I didn't get to play against you but nice job! That's impressive that you took 2nd (and I agree you would've probably won if you remembered the fearless) at your first tournament. I'm glad to see we have another good competitive player and I hope you'll be able to make it out to more events.
As far as your Epic band, I think it would have done pretty well. The epic Justicator proved himself once again to be a beast and extremely hard to take down. I really like the combo of the CODA and Bodyguard as they can make a piece last the entire game pretty easily if used right. One thing about the bodyguard though is that he can only absorb damage taken from an attack so it wouldn't help against breath weapons or AoE. At least I'm pretty sure that's what the card says. But yeah it definately would've put up a good fight at the tourney. I look forward to seeing what you come up with for 200 pt. bands. Hopefully you'll be able to make it out in another 2 weeks to play.

| Thanks, for the feed back Devin. I am going to do my best to convince my wife to let me go to this next event. Can you tell me what this next event entails? 200 pts. Any set? Drider sorcerer banned? Should I have maps or tiles ready or both? I am new to the tournaments, so if I can get a heads up now, I can be more prepared.
I am really excited to play some more and am looking forward to seeing everyone at the next event.
By the way thank you for clearing me up on the warforged body guard the card does say "Attacks" Very important detail. | | "Like a thief in the Night"

| | Glad to hear you're going to try to make it out. The next event will be held on March 25th, 12:00 at Hastur Hobbies. It is a 200 pt. constructed using pieces from any sets with maps. Drider Sorcerer is banned but everything else is useable. There should be a $5 entry fee and a couple boosters as prizes. If I got anything wrong I'm sure Spikegif will be able to correct it. Looking forward to playing you. | | | |

| SneakyJoe...nice to see you made it. Welcome to the boards.
Your epic band looks solid. I wonder how useful the wall elemental will be. I didn't see one in use at the tourny.

Hello! Yes, you remembered correctly I attend BYU, while living in Orem. Thank you and everyone else for informing me about this site. I have gathered tons of information. I hope I can bring a competitive warband to the tourney this next weekend. Just have to convince the wife to let me go.
Regarding my warband selection, I was hoping to use the wall elemental to cut off enemy commanders line of sight if enemy commanders are hanging back, then captilize on WoM CFX. Just an idea, and I really liked the mounted pally he may not be the most efficient piece, but if used right he seems he could be a wild card. Well maybe I can try it out still if anyone (including myself)has time.
I appreciate the warm welcomes and look forward to playing with all of you.
