I saw the post of who made the finals but I haven't seen anyone state who won. Thank you Alepulp for posting all the information so far and for helping organize the event. Can someone post the winner's name and also the map choices used for each band entered? That would be greatly appreciated.

Well.
I played 18 games in 2 days (9 in the 200pt, 6 in the 500pt and 3 in the Atlantic Cup) and I won 14 times.
I lost against 3 of my italians friends and against Kiddoc in the Atlantic Cup.

I'm very satisfied of my tournaments [:D]

I want to thank alepulp (and the other guys of the staff) for the pleasant organization of the event. I enjoyed it very much!!

Congrats, Nike!

p.s. Let's see if I got this part right - did top two in the 200 pt win the free hotel/airfare? And the whole top 8 qualified?

Marco, It was truly a pleasure meeting you and watching you compete. You're a tremendous player, and to have done so well in EVERY tournament you entered speaks to your level of skill and poise. Congratulations to you and to all your Italian team for being such great sportsmen and competitors.

Hi guys,
I wasn't able to win a single tournament in Italy with Nike (marco),
Orion (Cesare) and Pan (Dario) and many others italians good players that didn't have a chance to come to the EU Championship.
Now finally I understand why... my competitors are among the best players in Europe (and I would say in the world as Kiddoc can testify)!
I thought not to have any chance in this tournament,
also because I had a busy time and I wasn't able to play in the last 2 months a single match. I went in Birmingham without having even looked at the stats of wardrums! I didn't know the new maps (and the teleportes and the forest are really different games!).

However, with the inspired frenzy that Marco lended me, I actually performed not too badly with 4-2 in the 200pt for the 18th place out of 53 people among all europe (and some americans).

The atmosphere was really nice and also the organization.
Kiddoc was nice and friendly and gave the right importance to the event (here in Europe we sometime feel like left apart from the DDM organizers)

Be a part of so many people of different cultures and languages competing was terribly nice. I hope such events would be more frequent in the future.

Marco, if you don't mind, I'd love to hear about your strategy in defeating a Marut/Couatl warband while piloting Helmed Horrors with no magic weapon.

Anyone have a report from the winner? I'm curious how the dual inspired band was played..

Only 2 people beat it - from what I saw it was careful placement for a final assault on key pieces. Not sure of the other team - but my 3xHH beat it - *just*. He utilised the dragonshrine very well with the GcRs on the magic/VP circle, Xeph and Wolves to get interference or elemental resistance. From what I saw in placement, and experienced, was that he tried for a pincer movement also with the FBs.
