| Greetings and well met, As a few of you may know, MACE 2006 will be held Novemeber 10-12 2006 at the High-Point Radisson. I am looking for tournament organizers, judges, and players to organize a D&D Minis Tournament at MACE this year. It is MACE's 10th anniversary and the folks at Just Us Productions have assured us that it will be the best MACE ever! This year's event will include all types of games. No mention of a DDM Tournament has been planned as of yet. This is where we need you to step in. What I would like to see is a Constucted Tournament with 200 point qualifiers on both Friday and Saturday and a 500 point finals on Sunday. It does not have to be a DCI Santioned Tourney but would be a bonus if, infact, it was. I haven't decided on either, an entry fee nor trophies. I am, however, thinking that if we can get this going that I may put up some of my own Extra Rare Minis as prizes. I would have to speak with Runelord about repainting them, of course. I want to see what kind of response I can get before I make any solid plans. As D&D has already declared this the Year of the Dragons I am thinking that it only fitting that the trophies be just that. I'm thinking of putting up a Colossal Red Dragon for the First Place Trophy, a Gargantuan Black Dragon for 2nd, and one of the various Large Dragons for 3rd. All of these would be repainted by Runelord if at all possible. Basically, we have to get moving on this. If you are interested in participating in the proposed tournament please e-mail me. Did I mention that any GMs that host 12 hours of gaming get in free for the entire weekend? I look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks for your time, Ben Bryant aka RedneckDM MACE 2006 D&D 3.5 DM MACE 2006 Volunteer | | Completed Sets 10/13 Completed Trades: 124 Pending: Bad:1-Zandar81 (WotC) Took mail fraud charges to get minis he owed me.

| I go to MACE every year, and it's got tons of RPGA, other RPG's, board games, war games, card games and miniature games. All it's been missing over the last couple of years (for me at least) is D&D Minis. Here is the website:

| | They have the Living Greyhawk RPGA Campaign. In the past they had Living Kingdoms of Calymar (spelling?) and Legend of the Green Regent. I'm not sure if they will have Mark of heroes or not. That's up to their RPGA Organizer. At the website, you can request to be an RPGA Judge but, pre-registration isn't open until October. I plan to run 3 non-RPGA D&D games myself and maybe some other games. I may DM an RPGA event or 2 as well. My main concern is getting some DDM games going. As already stated, DDM has been the only shortfall at MACE and I want to change that. | | Completed Sets 10/13 Completed Trades: 124 Pending: Bad:1-Zandar81 (WotC) Took mail fraud charges to get minis he owed me. | |

| A couple suggestions. Including where this convention is located might be helpful to some of us (like me) A link to the official convention site might be nice, as MACE generates a ton of hits for personal defense sprays. | | Minis... | Hey Ben,
I'm a Delegate and Tournament Organizer in Cary. I was at the prerelease today, but I don't remember you, I guess you weren't there maybe. I could organize the tournament and make it DCI sanctioned. The only catch is that we'd need at least four people there playing. Friday night probably wouldn't work well for a qualifier due to people getting off work. Most of the DDM players would be coming from Raleigh or Charlotte. It's possible to just do one Saturday and a final on Sunday. The Saturday tournament would be bigger possibly, but it would make it more competitive. I've worked with Ron before at Stellarcons and ConCarolinas doing demos for WotC products such as D&D Miniatures, Star Wars Miniatures, and Axis and Allies Miniatures. If I end up coming to MACE, I could schedule a demo at the same time as the tournament and kill two birds with one stone. The organizer is just responsible for pairings and entering the results. I figured that MACE wouldn't work too well for demos since it's primarily RPG games there. People typically have plans and know what that want to do, I guess. If there was a judge like James, we would both want to be covered by run. Feel free to e-mail me at willhi1979 at yahoo.com
Hope this helps,

| OK guys! For some reason, the Folks at MACE has opened pre-registration early this year. I'm still looking to get a DDM tourney going. This is Mace's 10th Anniversary and we're all looking for it to be the best ever. This year, for all preregistered attendees, the folks at MACE will be giving a personalized d6 with the MACE logo. A sample can be viewed at justusproductions.com. Anyway I thought y'all'd like to know. | If only I'd known a bit longer ago. Turns out I'll be judging at a smaller convention the weekend before.
While "all work and no play makes Dave a dull boy," it's also the case that "all play and no work makes Dave's wife really mad."

| Well, as far as having players, I will be at MACE and will do everything possible to play in any DDM tournament there. And the Saturday afternoon time from 1:30-5:30 (its current time slot on the schedule) fits perfectly with the times I'll be DM'ing. BTW, I'm assuming it will be 200 pt., right? | | "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. | I'm hoping Epic (500pt) format. If nothing else I guess I'll be at the Open Gaiming Table with my minis in tow. | | Completed Sets 10/13 Completed Trades: 124 Pending: Bad:1-Zandar81 (WotC) Took mail fraud charges to get minis he owed me. | |

| There's 1 slot on the Schedule for DDM but I don't think it's a tournament. Let's keep our fingers crossed. | | Completed Sets 10/13 Completed Trades: 124 Pending: Bad:1-Zandar81 (WotC) Took mail fraud charges to get minis he owed me. | |

| I asked Ron (the gaming coordinator) via email if there was a "D&D Minis tournement" at MACE, and he replied "It's on the schedule." So hopefully that means that someone is going to organize a real tournament. In the four hours for the slot, you could easily run up to a 16 person tournament with a clear winner, so I don't see any reason there couldn't be one (sanctioned or not, doesn't really matter that much to me).

| | I don't care whether it's sanctioned or not. I just want to play some quality DDM. I'll be bringing several warbands with me. | Being new to Southern Virginia, I had no idea this was even taking place. While I can not commit to going at this time, I am very interested and would certianly play in any DDM tournament. I like sanctioned tournaments, but would play either way. Anyone have the scoop on hotels in the area?

| I always stay at the host hotel (the Raddison), which is very nice and pretty affordable. They quote $74 a night to stay there for the convention.Â

| | I normally drive back home since it's not that far. However, I will be getting a room at the Radisson this year. I may be loooking for a roomie or 2 to help keep down the room costs. I am unsure if I will be needing a roomie or not. Also, Friday and Saturday night, after the days events are closed, I will be running 2 RPGA games. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll do what I can to include you in it. | | Completed Sets 10/13 Completed Trades: 124 Pending: Bad:1-Zandar81 (WotC) Took mail fraud charges to get minis he owed me. | |

| I checked out the web site and there was minimal information. Do we know if this will be a constructed or limited tournament? 200 or 500 point? Will it be sanctioned? Prizes? Anything?

| Ron did some updating today (apparently), and its title currently says "D&D Miniatures - 200 pt Triad Constructed Tournament"
It doesn't really mention anything about sanctioning, unfortunately. | | "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'." -John 8:12
