If you want ideas on casting things you might want to crusie over to HirstArts.com. On Bruce's site there is a step by step guide on how to make molds for casting, including two part molds. Two part molds are really what you are going to need to cast the axe you speak of, at least that is the way that it sounds.

I have made a couple of molds of figs that I thought would make really cool statues. Also, the HA message boards have great folks (many hang out here as well) and you could post a question there as well. A heads up though is that the board traffic is slower than here; where you typically get a response and almost a real time conversation occurs...[:D]

you don't just dunk them in the latex,you brush on one layer,let it dry,brush on another,let that dry,etc,etc[)]

:P read the instructions and Ive got a few casts made so far, one for the base, one for a pair of earrings and well im working on more stuff :P Its hard to find miniature things.
