next to some d&d minis for scale? i'm interested in buying some for conversion for d&d but i'm not familiar with that particular figure's size. thanks ahead of time.

It's rather small, the rider would essentially be a tiny.

The rider is a about the size of a ddm Kobold (or smaller)
The hawk is the size of a medium gold dragon. i.e. smaller than a "large dragon" but bigger than most mediums.

Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.
