Does anyone know why I am not seeing any release tourneys for this new set like I did for CP?  I really hope this isn't a sign as to how much company support Dreamblade is going to get.

I actually find it interesting that eBay sellers are starting to dry up, there wasn't even any mention of the various previews for the new set...

Me thinks it might be time to stick a fork in Dreamblade...

Single sales have always been hot only at the early part of the release anyway, when people are frenzying to get the pieces that they want. Once people get them, it dies down.

Not that surprised that singles sales has gone down. It'll come back up again when Anvilborn is released.

With no RPG market to help fuel it singles sales will only go so far.

The promos are there - you just need to know how to find them -- most are listed as Mantlet, Nosferatix, and Elite Guardian.
One misspelled the set as Anvilburn.
Most can be found if you use the keyword "Dreamblade promo".

But I also think there are less promos out there this time -- 2 stores in my area (both have hosted multiple $1Ks that have attracted 32+ players) did not receive any promos.

Sorry, I didn't intend to cause any sort of uproar.  I love the game play style of Dreamblade, but frankly the market sure seems to be drying up.  Here's what I've seen:

1) When Dreamblade was released 5 of my FLGS I visit all stocked the product, and had a reasonable sized stock.  eBayers were easy to find, and auctions were frequent.

2) BW was released and two FLGS stopped stocking it.  The sales weren't there (I asked).  One or two eBayers had a few rares up close to release day but shortly after that they stopped offering items.

3) CP was released and only two FLGS still offer the product.  One stated "I don't know why I brought it in, it's not selling."  He asked if I would buy some of his old stock(base set) for $10 a booster (Usually it's $15-18 ) hoping I'd buy a few.  I have enough of the base set, so I turned him down.

4) Only two of the eBayers I visit are still selling any Dreamblade product.  One has marked all his stock down in an attempt to clear it out.  We're not just talking about Commons here, we're talking Warchams at 50% market.  Yes, they didn't last long, but then again he only had two.

5) With Anvilborn I didn't even see mention of the previews on Wizards site here on Maxminis.  I stumbled upon them because I thought "I haven't looked in a while".  I'll be honest, nothing there got me all that excited about the new set.

I'm not saying there isn't someone out there playing, or someone out there selling.  I'm just saying things are looking to be on a downhill slope.  I could be wrong, but I'm just calling what I see.

I have a crapload of Dreamblade figures and frankly I don't know if I'm going to get any more...

Locally things have died off quite a bit. Not that we ever had a huge scene for the game here but there were a dedicated 4-6 and we had Edge tournaments go once a week. Now we're lucky to have the numbers to get one tournament a month.

It's been a while since anyone new played the game here or even tried it as far as I know.

I don't think the game is drawing in the Magic players like they had hoped, I could be wrong as I don't play that game or move in it's circles to have first hand knowledge. I am a DDM player and I know a lot of people here don't have the money to devote to 2 games, in particular one like Dreamblade that has a single use.

The freakiness and ugliness of many of the game pieces turns people off. From the Anvilborn poster scan I saw there were maybe 5 or 6 that I liked the look of or said "Hey, that's a cool looking piece." Not exactly a good ratio out of 60 figures.

Last time I split a case with a friend plus the 3 boosters I bought from the release event. This time I think I'll stick to the 2-3 boosters for the release tournament we'll run and leave it at that.

Still, it's a very fun game to play.

No problem in my area (Dallas) - stores in Garland (NE suburb), Lancaster (S suburb), and Mansfield (SW suburb) have EDGE events that make weekly (with just one player common among all 3 stores).
The college students wandered away around November and seem to be wandering back in -- many interested in qualifying for GenCon.
The ebb and flow / wax and wane was to be expected. Some DBM players defected to WOW, and now that WOW has died (from 30 to 2 or less for twice weekly events), they are filtering back into DBM (which had a very rocky period during the "Kitsune months").
I am concerned that Anvilborn will hold my interest long enough until the next set in September - but then they've already got me hooked and I guess they need to slow down the releases in an attempt to build back the player base.

We are gaining Magic players (a few are not happy with the implied direction of Future Sight).

With the creation of the Sealed $10Ks and $1Ks, I quit buying 4 cases of every release and just started buying 3case because I'll buy another 12 boosters over the course of the month with the release event and Sealed $10Ks and $1Ks -- and it'll be no different with the upcoming Lenexa KS and Hartford CT events

There a good point about sets being released too fast. I imagine that would have scared some player/collectors knowing that the next set was always just around the corner.

This is not my ebay experience at all - and I am a seller and a buyer.  I thought I was getting out of DB at one point about two months ago and sold all my rares.  Like hot cakes they went and for surprising prices.  I did research on each piece to see what it might sell for and wrote that price down; then I wasnt able to do my listing for a few weeks and when I came back to list my minis I rechecked the prices I had written and they were too low!! - I had to increase my prices.

The drop in Warcharm prices reflects a healthy game environment and not a dying one.  The price fluctuates not because no one wants them but because as the metagame progresses they are less and less a must-have piece as competitive bands are built with fewer of them or none at all - this trend will probably continue but I still doubt the warcharm prices will ever (as long as the game exists) fall below $30 on average. The piece is just too efficient. I certainly could be wrong.

Check Ragedrake and HBT prices - both are soaring.

Anvilborn is going to really shake up the metagame - theres some crazy pieces in there.

I guess only time will tell - I'd be unhappy to see the game die.
