| It has been brought to my attention that maybe...just maybe...those of us who play Dreamblade here on the site (and in the league) might want to form a team. You know - help each other test warbands, split hotels/provide crash space for tournaments, wear matching tee-shirts - that sort of thing.
So, who's up for it? I'll be attending the 50K at GenCon in August and would love to have some teammates with whom to hang/talk/be photographed. Chime in if you're game.
Oh, and we'll need a name. Something "global", since we're from all over.

PS - Thanks to JamesP and Jarrett for bringing the whole thing up!

| | i'm up for it considering the other people in huntington, wv seem to not be interested in practicing dreamblade (they are also play versus) for the time being. we haven't played in almost a month and there is limited warband use around here anyway. the only practice i get is here at maxminis. i enjoy playing in groups, so like i said i'm up for it. | | | |

| I have to be honest ...... It was all James fault LOL
I'm deffinately interested as I, like Lott, don't have a strong group to plat with in the hometown. I do think we should limit it to the first 8 or so who are intersted or maybe use what the limit is to a Skype conference call. I know a number of guys have already shown interest
as for team names mmmmmm
Team Global Visionary lol

| Yup. Love the idea of forming a maxminis team....it will be totally cool, and after experimenting with skype with jarret, I would have to say that a conference call or two would be awesome. What might even be better (or good also) is to just lurk in a room and talk on skyoe about what we see without the players being privy just so that we can talk about the moves being made and whether we would agree or have done something differently. Skype+maxminis would allow for some good learning for sure....  As an aside - I will also be in attendance at GenCon (at least that is the intention), so I would love to meet up....and if anyone is interested in flying to Calgary for the 1K in july, I might be able to find a place for you to stay as well.....maybe......  | | A wand of silence means never having to say you're sorry. | Cool name ideas so far, and I think any would be fine... I like the idea that it should have an international sound to it...something "global" as it were, but I think it should be something "dreamy" as well.....  Maybe like IHOP....International House of Dreamcakes.......? Just kidding, but it must be possible, even though it is a tall order....

| Just a thought
If we can get enough people interested in teams, we could maybe look at setting up more than one. We can hold our own team challanges on this site ( for braging rights ) It would be interesting to see how teams develope differently and how those different playstyle work against each other. It would also help us be prepared to play other teams at Dreamblade events.
Think about it ...... we could end up with more teams on this site then at an actual event. all trying to have the best builds
The games ... THE GLORY (evil laugh )
eerrrrr just a thought

| | If we are looking seriously at using Skype to chat (or other type of vocal communication), we also have to be aware of the limitations of it. It is pretty hard to do like a team conference if there can only be 5 people conferencing at a time. I think breaking into subgroups might not be a horrible idea.... | | A wand of silence means never having to say you're sorry. | Im thinking we can all share a global name with a marker at the end example Global Warriors div a Global Warriors Div b etc etc..... or Dreamscape International american boyz Dreamscape International Euro boyz You get the picture. We can start the groups with 3 or 4 players each with a limit of 5 per group. This allows new players the option of joining up with a group or starting one of there own. It also allows someone to leave a group and start there own without needing more then a couple guys to get it going. I realize that this is alot to decide before we even get things going but I find its best to lay a solid base before things get to big
What do you guys think ?????????????????
James, this is really your idea. What did you have in mind ?????????

| Well, lets get this ball rolling.
At 11:00pm EST on Thursday, May 17 I invite all interested parties to a gathering of the minds here on the website. I will create a room where we can chat, although it might be better suited if we all used a different chatting medium. So we will meet here and post away on the main server. Then, if you can make sure to download the SKYPE application, we can do a conference chat and set ourselves up to be able to actually voice chat. The software can be found at www.skype.com and I suggest you have a headphone/mic combo set as that seems to work best.Â
We can discuss exactly what it is we want to get from this team structure and make a plan to do it. This will only be the first meeting, not the only one so if you cannot make it, we can make sure to catch you next time.Â
I hope people don't mind me doing this, but I figured that someone might ass well grab the bull by the horns and if you have any other suggestions, then feel free to post them here.....

| Hello All,
Sorry for the delay. I've been down hard with the flu or something for the last few days. Last I remember, someone was promising to kick my butt with a madness band. Anyway, after I thought of the idea of an online team I asked myself what would be its purpose and objectives. I have seen the growth and popularity of Dreamblade teams on the WOTC website featuring some of the most prominent teams. Upon further thought I came up with two basic objectives and purposes. 1) To support and promote the game of Dreamblade, and 2) to benefits the members by providing comradere, identity, shared experience and knowledge, friendship, fun, etc. Consequently, I believe any (online) team should support and accomplish those two ends. There have been some good ideas shared and there are many possibilities for creating on online team (or teams). Please remember the basics about what an online Dreamblade team is about.
I envisioned a team that all have access to. One in which could grow in numbers, prestige, and experience as the game of Dreamblade grows. A team of members from various locations and experiences all joined for a common purposes of promoting the game and increasing ability to play. The variety and numbers can only add to the experience. We could come up with a cool name, one that represents our vast geographic origins and online commonality. The two that I originally came up with were CYBER WARRIORS or GLOBAL RAGE. Many other good ones have been presented. I then thought we could develop a common theme and/or slogan and then apply it to our team and then onto team T-Shirts. It would be cool if people started showing up at a whole bunch of different events with out team shirts on representing ourselves, a 1Ks, 10Ks, and even GenCon.
In the end, we all have different ideas, experiences, and needs. This is but one idea. We are no means limited to one idea or one team. Please consider my words and the words of others that have posted. Then we can make some decisions and move forward. I’ll be back more in a few days when I’m feeling better and ready for a group hug . Until then, Best wishes and be Safe.
Best Regards, Jim
