All of those messed up figures and clunky rules got me out right quick. It's too bad realy, the game had quite a bit of potential.... :(

| I liked the atmosphere of the first movie. It wasn't bad in my opinion. In this one I hope the Predators kick a lot more @ss this time around. The trailer looks promising, I like collecting the avp horrorclix minis - haven't played them a single time yet. I want "Aliens" the movie figures with the marines, maybe we'll get a little of that due to avp2 having an army called in. I'm guessing this will be a huge resource for the Clix game, perhaps an entire set - seeing as the other stuff sucks. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. Humans as cardboard cutout plot devices in a sci-fi splatfest? Surely, you jest
The first AVP was sadly lacking in the action department. Silly writers actually tried to squeeze in something resembling a story. They need to take a page from the Transformers book and realize that cheese-premised films need no story, only really spiffy cgi and explosions.
Hopefully, they'll also learn from Transformers that without a story movies shouldn't go quite so long...

| | Ok, anybody else catch the AVP trailer before 30 days of night? Well, I was totally psyched (big fan), but I must say their choice for the 2nd portion of the music was just plain insulting, unsuitable and unpalatable. Thanks AVP you cheesey marketing ignoramices, not stupid enough to just have the release on christmas day eh. /rant | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | I saw it this afternoon (because nothing says Christmas like a chest bursting alien worm, lol). It's nothing to get excited about; stock characters lined up for the slaughter for the aliens or caught in the Predator's line of fire. Any cool fights between the aliens and predator are underlighted so it's hard to see what's going on. The ending is somewhat anticlimatic. Reiko Aylesworth (who played Michelle Dessler for a couple of seasons on 24) does her best with the little material she has to work with, functioning as the Ripley stand in for the movie. In all, I'd give it a 3 out of 5.

| | Actually I liked it 3.5 out of 5, still rather comic bookish. I'm still trying to figure out the role of the predator... it should have been a team of preds if they knew what they were dealing with rather than just 1. The predaliens new ability is rather... kinda of overpowering. | Warning Spoilers:
Yeh, it basically could produce 3-4 chest bursters by orally injecting it's 2nd mouth in to a female host (it also did so with the baglady in the sewers). Why it only did so with females is beyond me, but that was the case. I don't believe they came from the womb, I mean, if they did, that'd be highly complicated, I imagine they just burst from their bellies. | Just got back from seeing it and thought it was pretty good. It's a bit dark at times but you can still figure out whats going on and I think they went that route to avoid having to CGI everything. The plot was fairly mindless but decent enough to make you enjoy watching it. Very gory and yet still entertaining. Could it have been better? Absolutely, but it still was decent.
