I'm pretty sure I've listed my origins before but to state them again, Monsoon was my Ubër character from the Marvel RPG; 28 is the day I was born. Been using it since the mid-90's before that I tended to use 'Stonewall' or 'Deth' but after awhile I started sticking with only one of them, so why Monsoon instead of Deth? (which I'd been using since 87/88') No real reason, I guess I just needed a change at the time. | | "I was sittin' here eatin' my muffin, drinkin' my coffee, replayin' the incident in my head, when I had what alcoholics refer to as a moment of clarity." - Jules Winnfield Sales/Trades Bad (1): Ironfist Boulderbender Trades/Sales completed (8.): Danthl, Dafrca, Garyaxe, qillan_dvra, realmaster, Vandal_Savage, cavedweller, unearthed arcana. | Dordledum refers to two things in the first campaign I ever played.
First it is the name of a Dwarven City (Greyhawk somewhere) from where my first PC originated.
Second it is the name of a Dwarven Greataxe (my DM incorporated the concept in Ad&D) with some nifty abilities: * Only usable by Neutral Good. * +3 in general * +4 vs Drow, Derro, and Troglodytes * +5 vs Kuo-Toa, and Aboleth
Add 5 slots into weapon mastery greataxe (Dwarven Fighter level 11)and you have an awesome combo.
My character slew a deep dragon singlehandedly with this axe in a full-round attack action in one round. The DM was disappointed.

| | Avrivah, was originally derived from the word Efrafa, which was used in the novel Watership Down for a totalitarian warren of rabbits. I modified the name for an NPC Rakshasa many years ago. I liked it so much, I kept the character and used the name for my email, aim handle, and maximini name. | | OldReferences-http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4648 NewReferences-http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12380 Completed Trades 55 Champion of The Lady of Pain

| When I went to register over at WotC I needed a username over 3 letter long (my fraternity knick was "Uno" and I've carried it with me - even my mother used to call me Uno and I've had 2 business' that used it, I still DJ as DJ UNO).
I had been lurking for a while and I had noticed that a lot of the user names were a bit pompous - so I wanted to go in a different direction. "Dragon Snack" kind of popped into my head while I was trying to think up some way to use "Kobold", so I ran with it...
Since it's *usually* still available, I have carried it across a couple of message boards.

| lono is the name of one of the major characters in Vertigo's 100 Bullets comic, a Hawaiian shirt wearing, cigar smoking, A-1 bad mother. lono is also the name of the Hawaiian god of war, at least according to Brian Azzerello, the writer of 100 Bullets. since Hawaiian shirts are one of my principle modes of dress and DDM is sort of a war simulation I thought it fit.[:D] | | Champion of Pierce, warforged archer/commando, and all other quality unique minis because how else will Drizzt become tier 1? | |

I tend to be pretty neutral, I'll always argue the other side, even if I don't agree with it, hence the "grey"... the haze is the euphoric outlook I have on life, I'm not really aware of existence and nothing ever feels crystal clear... I actually tried starting as 'Hastur' way back when I signed up for my first Yahoo account - that was taken, as was 'Cthulhu' and 'Nyarlathotep' so I added the '333' to the end and got Nyarlathotep333. The 333 is just cause, I like the number 3 and, well, it's three 3s

| I'm sure I've explained in other threads before, but I don't see that I've replied to this one, so here goes.
Quite simply, Faragdar the Wise is my screen name at the WotC forums. I simply used the same name here. At Hordelings, I'm simply "Faragdar", since spaces weren't allowed in my screen name there.
On the origin of the WotC screen name - originally, I was briguy9000. I decided that was too boring, and since pretentious, self-aggrandizing screen names seemed to be all the rage, there at the time, I adopted the name I gave to my first D&D 3.0 character. Faragdar (the Wise) was a multiclass half-orc barbarian/wizard (transmuter) with a penchant for buffing spells. Despite being a very fierce melee combatant, he felt that his true calling was the pursuit of knowledge. The idea for the character actually came from the image that I use as my avatar - I think it was one of the "unlikely heroes" images that was posted on the official D&D web site ages ago. Faragdar was never without a book to read, and he delighted in showering his knowledge upon others - not to prove the greatness of his own knowledge and understanding, but simply because he felt knowledge should be shared. That basically fit the way I liked to make use of the WotC forums, so it seemed a perfect screen name.
Incidentally, I also had a 2nd screen name for a while on WotC named "Faragdar the Bonehead" which I created in order to reply to a thread where I made a comment that I later realized was embarassingly inept. I think WotC screen name rules caused it to be later deleted, since it seemed to mock an existing screen name (and, of course, that's exactly what it was for - publicly mocking myself). | | "Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." - Albert Einstein Champion of Myopic Half-Orcs Winner, WBC X
