 | | 02/14/2008 5:44 AM | Alert | | There is a LOT of interesting info in here. Maybe we don't need to forum anymore, but we do need to keep the information, imo. | | The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner and RPG designer from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute and RPGA certified DM named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark and THAC0. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons, D&D every night. In the spring we'd make meat helmets for LARP. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag, forced to walk the walk of a thousand four siders, and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe, which was very handy for D&D. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles for LARP. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

 | | 02/19/2008 11:12 PM | Alert | This section could be made read-only, but my personal opinion is that I'd rather just leave it as it is so that anyone who is interested can post updated or new ideas here.
I set up this section after the "New World" project was already mostly dead, and while the driving reason was to give the resuscitation efforts the best possible chance of success, it wasn't intended to only be used for "New World" content.
Do you think a name and byline change would help to improve posting here? Maybe "New Worlds: Ideas and resources for custom created campaign worlds." would be better?
If people feel that the forum isn't worth keeping, we would gradually move all of the threads back into the RPG section (the only way to mods and I can do it is manually) before deleting the forum section.

I like that idea. Anyone else? I also think this is a good idea. It would broaden the scope of the forum so that posts could be made tied to the New World Project, as well as creative concepts outside of it.

Perhaps, but people could be using it without giving any outward sign of doing so. If I pull an idea from the stuff here for my own campaign and don't tell anyone, who would know one way or the other. I guess my point is that folks might not be actively posting but those same folks could still be using this information as inspiration.
