Username, it is good to be back amongst the DDM community!!! Here and t"H"ere.  Zen, it is a darn good thing that I wasn't planning on holding my breath. I hope the program, Leichenreiter's DM tool kit (LDMTK) sees the light of day in some sort. As I am not really interested in the 3D game table and the other associated tings. I (and I think a good many other people) want a program to create a class containing NPC/Monster with items in a quick and precise manner. This said creation can then be saved, printed and edited. The last being, in my mind, the most important for when those pesky PCs get away!!
I hope that with the LDMTK makes it possible to incorporate new information from new books. The ability to make a critter for my group makes me able to develop a monster while the wife watches Dr. Phil or Jon& Kate plus eight or whatever thing i could not care about. Point is I want a program that allows me to create a critter based on the books and the imagination that I have rollin around in this head of mine. To me if WotC and the powers that be keep the program simple and focused and I will most likely get more books.   Now here is the kicker and I think the main area that is holding things up, electronic material for a printed book.Â
To me, and I can only speak for me, I think that if I buy a printed book, I shouldn't have to pay for the electronic content of that book. Now if I belong to a subscription service that is able to provide the electronic content of the printed material to me for a monthly payment. I am cool with the idea of as long as I am a member of the subscription service I am entitled to the electronic content. But I can see the fear of piracy being a main obstacle in getting an electronic tool out there for us DMs.
But, for me the longer that WotC delays the release of this product the less the more I am reminded of e-tools. But that is just me. I am hopeful though as a tool that I can generate more fun and keep my game running along smoothly is all about the fun!!!
