| FYI - I just put up on Ebay Lareth the Beautiful from GIANTS OF LEGEND. What is unique about this mini is that I able to get Gary Gygax to sign the stat card at GenCon 2007.
As you all know Gary is no longer with us. I would not part with this but I have another one I am keeping for myself.Â

If you're that skeptical, you could compare it to other autographs by Gygax. | |

But for Gygax? Seriously? I doubt his signature is more sought after than sports and movie stars. I'm going to say this one should be pretty safe. | |

No, that's ok. I agree that there are some dishonest people when it comes to autographs, but I highly doubt Gary Gygax would be a target. No offense meant. | |

I could compare it with the signature I got in 2000 from Mr. Gygax.
Whats been said is that this wouldn't help much mainly because there are people out there who are really good tracers. So it would still look like the one you have, but really have been done by Joe Schmo.

| Ok, I don't have a picture of him in the actual process of signing that card. I do have a picture of me and him pen in hand that he was signing with, at GenCon 2007.
I have attached the picture. If anyone wants the full size picture to look at send me an email at dmscreen@comcast.net and I will send it out. Not my best picture, a lot of late night gaming was under my belt by that picture.
I have been seeing Gary at GenCon for many years (at least 20) and I have a lot of items signed by him. Most of which I would not part with.Â
I have been running RTTOEE module for the last two years and I had gotten several Laerth minis.  I grabbed the Lareth cards, Snurr, and Mordenkainen when I went to GenCon last year after hearing he would be there and was being honored. Gary had not been to Gen Con since it moved to Indy due to health issues and maybe other reasons. It was great to see him that year and I even got a chance to sit with him at lunch one day and talk with his wife and him for 5 minutes. He was a great guy and always very approachable and willing to talk.
Additonal proof that I go to GenCon.

| No offense taken. I understand and I was glad to provide the extra information. I guess it never crossed my mind that someone would fake a signature on something like that. But there are a lot of shady types out there. I sure am glad I had a buddy there to get that picture taken with Gygax at the signing. This next GenCon if I get anything signed I am going to have my digital camera handy and get them actually in the act of signing.
One guy that is now a nightmare to get a sig from is R.A. Salvator. Years ago you could bump into him in the dealer hall at GENCON and talk and have him sign stuff. Now it’s a mob scene when he is there and the line is 100s of people long. Crazy!
Ed Greenwood is still pretty available. I got my promo Elminster signed by him and was a very happy camper with that one. If you have not seen Ed he looks like he should be playing with ZZ Top. So far all these gamer icons have been really nice whenever I have approached them and struck of a conversation or asked them to sign anything.
