I imagine over time, more humidity and foliage will have a chance to finally crumble them...

well if the trailer is true then most concret things would be gone between 500 - 750 years | | Proud member since March 26 2005 Champion of the SIVAK DRACONIAN Joke champion of the epic sage! Yes, but probably much longer than a thousand years. I can see the pyramids, the Coliseum, and the Parthenon going for a few thousand more, and these are basically at the mercy of the open elements. Imagine what a metropolis like New York or Chicago could stand up to, with all of the buildings sort of sheltering each other. Plus, modern civil engineering has made some of these buildings very strong. Unless, of course, one decides to fly commercial airliners into them. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

Yeah, but that's also with regular maintenance. Dirt and Grime from the insode as well as outside, plus the occassional natural disaster. Think hurricane/tornado/earthquake, and over a thousand years, you should get one just about everywhere.

| don't think the pyaminds count. they are basically stacked rocks (mortarless) concrete/mortar etc. would be the first to go then stuff would start to topple rather quickly.

belive it or not concrete is a very weak building material get a 1 foot block of stone and one of concrete and start hitting them and see which one you can pound to dust first | | Proud member since March 26 2005 Champion of the SIVAK DRACONIAN Joke champion of the epic sage!
