| Well, I watched some of the speeches tonight, wasn't at all impressed. Palin had nothing to say other than she's a Hockey Mom with 'Executive Experience' and bashing liberals. She comes off self-righteous and is probably going to scare away most moderates.
So I'd have to go with Obama and Biden. Either way I'm sad, since we're now having Federal Elections here in Canada and I'd rather vote for Obama or McCain rather than Harper, Dion or Layton.
Still interested in seeing what McCain has to say tomorrow and hopefully he can bring back some of the class that Giuliani and Palin seemed to totally lack.
Last note, MILF? Really? She's 44 and I thought from her looks that she was 50ish, at least 48-49. Sure she's better looking than Hillary but that's not really saying much.

| I watched the Palin speech tonight and paid very close attention. I was not impressed. The only thing she gets points for is her aggression, which could even hurt her (and McCain's) chances later on. I didn't really get any substance out of what she said. There are a lot of good mothers out there. There are a lot of good local leaders out there. But, being Vice President (and very possibly President considering McCain's status) is serious business. Oh well, it's really still up to McCain more than her anyways, so he'll have to have a strong anchor leg tomorrow.
Still advantage Obama/Biden up to this point.
On a side note. She gets very strong MILF points with me. I think she's gorgeous. | |

But considering that this speech was most likely scripted to the Nth degree and she was coached also to the Nth degree by McCain's people, I'm not sure that we can be impressed or not impressed by her yet.

| Watched McCain's speech, not bad but not great either. I'd have to give Obama/Biden the edge after both of their conventions.
Of course the debates will be way more interesting.
Did anyone notice how both Palin and McCain contradicted Obama? They both said Obama would raise taxes in the very fields that Obama a week earlier had said he'd reduce tax from, like small business' and the majority of the middle-class.

| Palin will help McCain overcome his elderly, out of touch persona, and help draw in women voters, especially soccer moms, etc.
While not the best possible VP choice(Romeny) she's still a plus, in that she helps solidify both conservatives and bring in liberals. She's a nice yin to McCains base of Yang.
Biden seems to be a detraction for Obama, overall. He doesn't bring as much voting power, although being a nor'easter helps. But he brings some controversy.
Overall, VP edge to McCain right now, but that could change.
Besides, as we all know, sex sells.

Texas would probably be the third. Although Arizona could also be a contender.
Granted, every method for determining levels of "liberal" and "conservative" (which are fraught, subjective terms in their own right) is subjective. Both labels are inadequate and imprecise.
Abortion-rights advocates might rank South Dakota, Ohio, and Kentucky as the most conservative.
Columbia University might rank Louisiana and Georgia as the two most conservative after Idaho.

Used to be, but not anymore. Now, they have speed limits, but the ticket is $5, and you can pay it on the spot.
They had to instigate a speed limit in order to get government funding in certain areas.
Same thing with drinking laws.
